The perfect base for any curry or dal. 100% vegan Gluten-free No preservatives Ready in 20 min What's in the kit Premium aged basmati rice — pre-measured Hand-blended cumin spice pack Step-by-step cooking instructions How to make it Stovetop method Classic and foolproof — works with any pot You'll need: 1 kit (rice + spice pack) · 2 cups water · 1 tsp oil or ghee · medium saucepan with lid Prep time: 5 min · Cook time: 18 min · Serves: 2–3 1 Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and helps the rice cook up light and fluffy. 2 Heat 1 tsp of oil or ghee in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the spice pack and stir for 30–45 seconds until fragrant.Toasting the cumin first unlocks a deeper, nuttier aroma. 3 Add the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Stir to combine and bring to a boil over high heat. 4 Reduce heat to low, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15–18 minutes until all the water is absorbed.Resist the urge to lift the lid — the steam is what makes the rice perfectly fluffy. 5 Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Rice cooker method Hands-off and consistent — great for meal prep You'll need: 1 kit (rice + spice pack) · 1¾ cups water · 1 tsp oil or ghee · rice cooker Prep time: 5 min · Total time: ~25 min · Serves: 2–3 1 Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. 2 Add the rinsed rice, spice pack, oil or ghee, and 1¾ cups of water to the rice cooker bowl. Let it run through the full cycle. 4 Once done, let it rest on the Keep Warm setting for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve. Tip: Every rice cooker is slightly different — if your rice comes out a little wet or dry the first time, adjust the water by ¼ cup next time. How to make it

Stovetop method

Classic and foolproof — works with any pot

You'll need: 1 kit (rice + spice pack) · 2 cups water · 1 tsp oil or ghee · medium saucepan with lid

Prep time: 5 min · Cook time: 18 min · Serves: 2–3

1
Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
This removes excess starch and helps the rice cook up light and fluffy.
2
Heat 1 tsp of oil or ghee in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the spice pack and stir for 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
Toasting the cumin first unlocks a deeper, nuttier aroma.
3
Add the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Stir to combine and bring to a boil over high heat.
4
Reduce heat to low, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15–18 minutes until all the water is absorbed.
Resist the urge to lift the lid — the steam is what makes the rice perfectly fluffy.
5
Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
Tip: Keep the heat on the lowest setting once simmering — basmati is delicate and can scorch on the bottom if the heat is too high.

4
Once done, let it rest on the Keep Warm setting for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve.

Stovetop method

Prep 5 min · Cook 15–20 min · Serves 2–3

You'll need: 1 kit (rice + spice pack) · 2 cups water · 1 tsp oil or ghee · medium saucepan with lid
1
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
This removes excess starch and prevents clumping.
2
Heat 1 tsp oil or ghee in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the spice pack and stir for 30–45 seconds until the cumin is fragrant and lightly toasted.
Toasting the cumin first gives the rice its signature aroma.
3
Add the rinsed rice and stir to coat it in the spiced oil for 1 minute.
4
Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Bring to a boil over high heat.
5
Reduce heat to the lowest setting, cover tightly, and cook until all water is absorbed and rice is fluffy — about 15–20 minutes.
Do not lift the lid while cooking. Timing may vary slightly depending on your stove.
6
Remove from heat, keep covered for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve.
Tip: For extra fluffy rice, let it rest covered for 5 minutes off the heat before fluffing with a fork.

Electric pressure cooker method

Instant Pot or any brand · Prep 5 min · Total 15 min · Serves 2–3

You'll need: 1 kit (rice + spice pack) · 1.5 cups water · 1 tsp oil or ghee · electric pressure cooker
1
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until clear.
2
Set to Sauté mode. Add oil or ghee and the spice pack. Stir for 30–45 seconds until cumin is fragrant.
3
Add the rinsed rice and stir to coat for 1 minute. Cancel Sauté.
4
Add 1.5 cups water and salt to taste. Secure the lid and set valve to Sealing.
5
Pressure cook on High for 3 minutes. Allow 10 minutes natural release then vent remaining steam.
6
Open lid, fluff with a fork and serve hot.
Tip: Use the natural release — quick release can make rice gummy.
