How to cook ?
Rinse the dal thoroughly in running water and add 2 cups of water. Set aside.
Heat the pressure cooker and add 2 tablespoons of neutral oil . Wait for 10 seconds.
Add the spice mix that comes with the pack and sauté for no more than 30 seconds.
Add the tomato and sauté for no more than 30 seconds.
Add the dal and water, then stir together and check for salt.
Close the lid and pressure cook on medium heat for 7 minutes (or 2-3 whistles).
Allow the pressure to release naturally.
Optionally, squeeze the juice of half a lemon.
Serve with cumin rice or any rice of your choice.
Cooking Completion Time: Approx. 20-30 minutes (varies by cooking method).
